Second Sun Rising is Boston’s first monthly fusion dance! We are a partner dance usually held on the second Sunday of each month, bringing a community together to dance to musical styles running the gamut from electronica to pop, inspired by whatever you bring, with frequent influences from blues dancing, tango, contact improv, West Coast swing, hip-hop and ecstatic dance.
In November, we’re part of the Little Dipper fusion weekend, teaming up with other dances in town for four days of dancing, workshops, meals, and more! We’ll still have an event Sunday Nov 8, but we’ll start with workshops at 3 P.M.
We’re usually at the Cambridge Masonic Hall, 1950 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge.
December 13 2026 we will be at First Street Market, 59 First Street, Cambridge instead. We plan to return to Masonic Hall in January.
Lessons are 7–8 p.m. and social dancing is 8–11 p.m. Price is pay-what-you-can sliding scale, $10-30. Cash only but we take IOUs. Volunteer opportunities are available that get you in for free; we are not for profit and believe in access for all. Bring your dance shoes and a water bottle (or cups are $1 each).
