Second Sun Rising is Boston’s first monthly fusion dance! We are a partner dance usually held on the second Sunday of each month, bringing a community together to dance to musical styles running the gamut from electronica to pop, inspired by whatever you bring, with frequent influences from blues dancing, tango, contact improv, West Coast swing, hip-hop and ecstatic dance.
We’re usually at the Cambridge Masonic Hall, 1950 Massachusetts Ave, but for Summer and Fall 2026 things are a little more complicated.
- September 13 we’ll be at the Masonic Hall
- October 11 we’ll be at First Street Market at 59 First St in Cambridge.
- November 8 we’ll be at the Masonic Hall as part of Little Dipper Fusion Weekend! Stay tuned for info about classes and Friday and Saturday night activities that weekend
Lessons are 7–8 p.m. and social dancing is 8–11 p.m. Price is pay-what-you-can sliding scale, $10-30. Cash only but we take IOUs. Volunteer opportunities are available that get you in for free; we are not for profit and believe in access for all. Bring your dance shoes and a water bottle (or cups are $1 each).
