To keep the focus, we're keeping this event small and ask that participants already have some partner dance experience.

Event Basics

Everything you need to know to plan your weekend.

Privates

Our Pearling Principle instructors are available for private lessons while they are in town! Book Brendan, Arielle, or both! Small groups can also be accomodated. Reach out to them at Info at pearling.org, 646-481-2148, or @ThePearlingPrinciple on Instagram.

Venues

Our venues are spacious, so we don’t anticipate anything selling out except Shut Up and Dance with Me.

Two of our venues (Ignis Arts and the church we're using for Shut Up and Dance with Me!) are readily wheelchair accessible, Blues Union is up one flight of stairs, the house party has a few porch steps, the Masonic Hall theatre ballroom is down one flight of steps. Bathrooms at Blues Union, Shut Up and Dance with Me, and the Masonic Hall will be signed gender neutral, the bathrooms at Ignis Arts are gendered.

Pricing

Sliding scale of weekend passes at $50, $95, and $145. $95 will cover our costs, those paying $145 are subsidizing the $50 tier. Saturday Dinner and Friday night Shut Up and Dance with Me are an additional $25 each. Afternoon Workshop prices are $__ for Saturday and $__ for Sunday.

Policy and conduct

Please help us keep the space comfortable and welcoming for everyone by avoiding scented products. We have folks in our community with allergies and sensitivities, and we really appreciate everyone being mindful of this! We'll have a photos/video ok zone at Second Sun Rising. Here are the host organizations policy pages:

COVID stuff

Masks are currently optional at all venues except Blues Union. If you're traveling by air, we would appreciate folks masking in airports and on subways.
